Our Services

Our multi-plant site is located on the Cumberland River with its own barge discharge terminal for raw materials and commercial barge unloading.

We have access to over 800,000 sq.ft. of warehouse area and are located minutes from I24, I65, & I40.

Barge Unloading

We have a 50 ton crane system that is specifically designed to handle wire rod coils. We can pull 14 two ton coils per lift, which makes it possible for us to a full barge of wire rod in coils in 5 to 7 hours. In addition, we can sort by heat, reload by heat, and provide truck transportation anywhere in the US.

Truck Transportation

MS Logistics, LLC operates a barge and rail unloading facility that is capable of offloading and delivering materials such as wire rod, steel coils, etc., from barges and rail cars. MS Logistics’ fleet of late model trucks can then complete the delivery cycle by trucking these materials directly to the end customer’s location.

Barges of materials from all over the world are offloaded at MS Logistics barge terminal, located at mile marker 193.3 on the Cumberland River, in Nashville, Tennessee. Barges originating in New Orleans can come directly to our dock; and our freight terminal is located within 5 miles of Interstate Highways 24, 40 and 65. This location allows fast and efficient offloading and distribution of materials throughout the Mid-South. For maximum efficiency and minimum handling, wire rod and other materials can be discharged from barges or rail cars, directly to flat bed trucks.

MS Logistics Stevedoring and Transportation services have offloaded such sensitive materials as Wire Rod in coils for Plating Quality, PC Strand, and Tire Bead. Special precautions are made when handling these materials, such as rubber coated crane hooks and landing pads.

We can segregate materials by batch and heat lot as required, and then provide shipments by lots as well.

We use our trucks and drivers, so we can deliver multiple trucks per day or, if preferred we can spread the deliveries out to suit the end customer’s schedule. Brokers and major steel mills enjoy the efficiency of working with only one party for all of the barge unloading and trucking services – receiving only one invoice for the delivery of multiple barges’ worth of material from the river to the customer’s yard.
